The Day My "Perfect" Glasses Became Too Strong
We often think of emotional baggage as something that only weighs down our hearts or minds. But what if that baggage is actually affecting your physical senses?
Before I was a certified practitioner—back when I was just a curious student who had read the book and was practicing muscle testing on myself—I decided to focus on a physical goal: my nearsightedness.
I’ve worn glasses since I was 12 years old. If you're nearsighted, you know the drill: everything up close is crisp, but the world turns into a blur as soon as it’s a few feet, or even inches away. I had just purchased a brand-new pair of progressive lenses. They were perfect. They were exactly what my prescription called for.
But I had a hunch that there was an energetic "root" to why I couldn't see the world clearly.
Watching the Miracle Happen
I sat down to work on myself using just the Emotion Code®. I took my glasses off (since I could see the chart up close) and began identifying and releasing trapped emotions specifically related to my nearsightedness.
What happened next was something I can only describe as a miracle right in front of my face.
After every single release, the page in front of me got clearer. The lines became sharper. The contrast became crisper. It was like a camera lens was slowly being dialed into focus in real-time. I wasn't just feeling a shift; I was seeing it.
The Proof is in the Prescription
When I finally stood up and put my brand-new, "perfect" glasses back on, I gasped. They were instantly too strong. I actually had to look through the bottom portion of my progressives just to walk around because the distance prescription was now just too much.
I eventually went back to my eye doctor for a new exam. The results were measurable: I had improved by .50 in one eye and .75 in the other.
Why Does This Happen?
Our bodies are incredible recorders of energy. From the time we are conceived, we begin collecting "frequencies"—some are from our own experienced emotions, while others are absorbed from those around us or even inherited from generations before us.
For me, the shift into wearing glasses happened at age 12. Whether it was my own stress or an inherited pattern, my system began storing those energetic emotions, or frequencies, in my physical tissues. In the case of eyesight, there is often a subconscious component where the body creates a physical response to an energetic state—almost like a protective "blur" between ourselves and the world.
By clearing these old, lingering frequencies—whether they were mine or someone else's I was carrying—I allowed my physical eyes to begin returning to their natural state of clarity.
The "Work in Progress" Reality
I want to be very clear (no pun intended): My eyesight is not 20/20 yet. Also, while I saw these measurable results in just one session, I want to emphasize that these results are likely not typical.
Healing a physical symptom that has been set in stone for decades is usually a journey, not a single destination. In my case, the issues behind my eyesight go back to before I was 12 years old—that is a lot of "emotional baggage" and physical compensation to unpack! For most people, physical changes happen in layers. It often takes a dedicated series of sessions across the Emotion Code®, Body Code™, and Belief Code® to peel back those layers and see significant, lasting shifts.
A Practical Word of Warning
There is also a very real, practical side to this work: Be prepared for the cost of progress.
If your eyesight begins to improve, your current prescription will become too strong. This can cause headaches or dizziness as your brain tries to adjust to lenses that no longer match your eyes. If you decide to work on your vision energetically, you must be prepared for the possibility (and the expense) of having to buy new glasses or lenses sooner than you planned. It’s a "good" problem to have, but it’s still a financial reality to consider!
