In my years working in the ER, ICU, and surgical units, we lived by a single, unwavering rule: Stabilize first, treat second. If a patient is in a state of nervous system dysregulation, you don't start with complex, long-term work. You use an immediate, validated intervention to bring the heart rate down and return the body to a state of safety.

My Own "First-Aid" Toolkit for Panic
I was first introduced to Tapping—specifically EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and TFT (Thought Field Therapy)—in the early 90s after reading a book on the subject that highlighted its potential to help people overcome phobias. At the time, I filed the information away, unaware of how critical these protocols would eventually become.
By the early 90s, I was working in hospitals, nursing homes, and for various staffing agencies, eventually transitioning into full-time hospital work in the ER, ICU, and surgical units. The environments were intense, and both patients and staff could be incredibly short-tempered under pressure. In those moments when I found myself on edge, I recalled the tools I had read about. I would duck into a hospital bathroom and perform a few quick rounds of Tapping right there to calm myself down. It became my immediate nervous system regulation protocol, allowing me to make it through many stressful shifts.
In 2016, I faced a personal situation that resulted in PTSD symptoms. I returned to these same protocols. By combining EFT with the eye-movement techniques I learned from TFT, I was able to reduce the intensity of my triggers in real-time and, within six months, had completely eliminated them. Tapping is the most effective, portable tool for instant emotional regulation that I have ever encountered.
The Practitioner’s Boundary: Why I Don’t Offer 24/7 Crisis Support
I am often asked if I offer "on-call" sessions for people experiencing a panic attack. My answer is always the same: I do not.
My work at Illumination 11 is dedicated to deep, structural emotional clearing—the "surgery" of the energy healing world (using the Emotion, Body, and Belief Codes). This work is designed for long-term resolution, not immediate, on-demand crisis intervention.
Furthermore, waiting 24 hours for a scheduled appointment does not help you when you are triggered right now. If you are in a state of absolute overwhelm, you need a tool you can use the moment the distress hits.
