The Day the "Rock" Turned to Butter: My Energy Healing Epiphany

From Bedside Nursing to Energy Healing: The Moment "Woo-Woo" Became Real

My journey into healing didn't start with crystals or energy charts. It started in the clinical, high-stakes world of nursing. For years, my professional life was defined by what I could measure: vitals, lab results, and physical symptoms.

When I transitioned from nursing to massage therapy, I was still operating from that same medical mindset. I understood anatomy, physiology, and the physical manipulation of tissue. If a muscle was tight, you worked your way through the layers until it released. It was mechanical. It was logical.

When I first began exploring the Emotion Code (while still feeling a healthy dose of skepticism), I had an experience that bridged the gap between my clinical past and my energetic future.

The Unyielding "2x4"

My partner at the time had always had a specific area in his calf that defied every massage technique I knew. It wasn't just a knot; it was like a piece of wood under the skin. No matter how much I worked it or what clinical method I applied, that "2x4" wouldn't budge.

That day, while he was on the table, I decided to step away from the physical approach. I grabbed a pen and paper and, with his permission, asked: Are there trapped emotions associated with this tightness?

The Evidence

As he remained relaxed on the table, we identified and released about eight to ten trapped emotions. I didn't use any physical force. I didn't go back in with deep tissue maneuvers. We simply cleared the energy.

When I finally returned to the area to check the tissue, I was stunned.

The "rock" was gone. The area that had been hard as a board for years was now as smooth and soft as warm butter. My nursing background had trained me to look for evidence-based results, and the evidence was right under my hands. The physical tension hadn't needed more pressure; it had needed an energetic release.

The Shift in Perspective

That was the moment the "woo-woo" became real for me. It was the proof that our bodies are more than just mechanical systems—they are storehouses for our experiences.

While I no longer offer massage therapy, that experience remains one of the most foundational shifts beneath the work I do today. It taught me that we can spend a lifetime manipulating the surface of a problem, but until we address the energetic "baggage" underneath, the body may never feel safe enough to let go.

Is Your Body Holding Onto a Story?

We often try to "force" our way through physical or emotional tension, but sometimes the body is just waiting for the right conversation to happen. If you have a stubborn physical issue in your own life—that one difficult area or recurring weight—it might be time to look past the physical symptoms.
